Clerk
Michael Evans is a Barristers’ Clerk at Civitas Chambers, supporting members of chambers, professional clients, and court users in the effective management and administration of cases. He plays an important role in the day-to-day operation of chambers, assisting with case allocation, diary management, and the delivery of a responsive and professional service to solicitors, barristers, and other stakeholders.
Before joining Civitas Chambers, Michael built a successful career in human resources and employee relations, holding positions within both the private sector and the Ministry of Defence. His experience includes advising on complex casework, managing sensitive matters, supporting organisational change, and developing strong working relationships across a wide range of professional environments.
Michael’s professional approach has been shaped by his military service, where he developed a strong foundation in discipline, integrity, attention to detail, and teamwork. His experience working within the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence provided valuable insight into operating within highly structured and demanding environments, while managing confidential information and supporting personnel at all levels.
Drawing on this diverse background, Michael brings excellent organisational skills, sound judgement, and a client-focused approach to his role. He is committed to supporting the efficient operation of chambers and delivering a high standard of service to clients and colleagues alike.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys fly fishing and has a keen interest in motorsport. Whether on the water or following the latest racing events, he values the focus, discipline, and attention to detail that these interests encourage.
