Chambers is delighted to announce that Owain Rhys James has been appointed as a member of the Civil Justice Council (CJC) by the Lord Chancellor on the advice of the Lady Chief Justice and the Master of the Rolls. He attended the CJC’s quarterly meeting on 23 January 2026.
The CJC is the statutory advisory body, which advises the judiciary, government and rule makers on the development of the civil justice system including how it can be more accessible, fair and efficient.
Owain’s term will be for three years to 23 January 2029. He will continue with his practice alongside this role.
As the Welsh Interest Member, Owain is keen to hear from those working in and involved with the civil justice system in Wales.
